Bluttaufe was founded in 1994 by _exile.37 and empunkt.
After a long time of rehearsing we
recorded our debut demo "Schwarze Dornen" ("Black thorns") in 1996 on 8
tracks during 5 days of the dying summer at Stonehenge Portable Studio,
Germany. Actually it was limited to 100 copies but due to the unexpected
feedback we released a second and, finally, a third edition and sold 300
copies.
In May/June 1997 we entered Steinberger Studios to record our promo-tape "Zeremonien des Teufels" ("The devil's ceremonies")
for the first time now on 16 tracks. Without any promotion we sold 200 copies and nearly received positive feedback only. This tape also
brought in several offers for a 7" EP.
In the middle of 1998 we once again entered Steinberger
Studios to record another new song "Der Triumph des Todes" ("The triumph
of death") on digital 16-track Tascam and re-mastered the '97 promo-tape.
In march 1999 we once again made our way to Steinberger Studios and recorded 4 songs for a split-CD with "Primitive
Symphony" totally digital on 24 tracks, featuring our session-drummer Matthias R. for the very first and last time on a Bluttaufe
recording ever. Due to different circumstances the release of this split-CD was postponed for the next months.
In y2k we entered Kohlekeller Studio and recorded our very first official full-length album which was releases in late 2000 through Christhunt Prod., Germany.
"Mein Fleisch an Deinen Lippen..." received excellent feedback ans sold about 2.500 copies. A split-EP with Nagelfar (Germany) was released the same year in 2 different gatefold-editions, 300 copies in black
vinyl as well as 33 copies in clearly blue vinyl. This EP was already sold out few days after it was released.
